METROPOLITAN CONSTRUCTION DIVISION

Division operates from three inspection offices: San Pedro, Central Los Angeles, and West Los Angeles. The geographic boundaries for this Division runs from Mulholland Drive on the north, south to San Pedro and from Pasadena on the east to Pacific Palisades on the west.

The work programs for the Metropolitan Construction Division cover a wide variety of infrastructure improvements including storm drains, street improvements, street lighting and traffic signalization systems, and park facility improvements including building structures.

Many projects in these programs are awarded by the Board of Public Works and they involve the Bureau of Engineering, Bureau of Street Lighting, or the Department of Transportation.

The Metro Division also works on projects awarded by other City Departments and local agencies. This work includes a long history of providing services, in order to ensure quality construction, to Recreation and Parks, Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) projects (Gold Line, Red Line, and Blue Line), Caltrans (105 and 110 High Occupancy Vehicle lane (HOV) Project) and other proprietary City Departments such as Los Angeles Harbor Department (LAHD) - (Pier 300 and 400).

Metropolitan Construction Division is divided into six districts:

District 1

Joe Tyler - Principal Construction Inspector

District 1 includes the communities of Watts and San Pedro Harbor.

District 2

Kenneth Hendricks - Principal Construction Inspector

District 2 includes the communities of Hollywood, Echo Park, Highland Park, Pico-Union, Eagle Rock, Cypress Park, and Los Feliz.

District 3/5

Gregory Pifer - Principal Construction Inspector

District 3/5 includes the communities of Pacific Palisades, Westwood, West Los Angeles, and Beverly Glen.

District 4

Manny Cajucom - Principal Construction Inspector

District 4 includes the communities El Sereno, Lincoln Heights, Boyle Heights, Downtown Los Angeles, Bunker Hill, and East Los Angeles.

District 6

Marc Wright - Principal Construction Inspector

District 6 includes the communities of Leimert Park, the Crenshaw District, West Adams, University Park, and Southeast Los Angeles.
